David Annand
David has grown up on the water. Like his father and his many brothers, he is a fisherman. Lobster, oysters, mackerel, herring, clams – you name it, David has likely fished it. David had a dream, though. He wanted to turn his love of seafood and fishing into year-round sustainable employment for himself, his family and others in the community. One day, as he was opening Atlantic bar clams for a neighbor, something he really enjoyed doing, it struck him that he could turn this task into a viable business. And he and his wife, Carla, have done just that. David puts his knowledge of the fishery and production to good use at Annand Clams – ensuring that each and every product is worthy of the Annand name.
Carla Annand
For Carla Annand, her many years connected to the food industry have all come together in her perfect role. For starters, she grew up in the restaurant business, working at her family’s Hawkins Restaurant in Freeland, PEI. To this day, folks remember her father’s batter and pork chops. As an adult, Carla has specialized in quality control, particularly in the fishing and agriculture sectors. Most recently, she was the quality expert at nearby Minigoo Fisheries. Coupled with her bookkeeping experience, Carla keeps the Annand Clams office ship-shape. Oh, and all the products are made with her tried and true recipes, meeting her exacting standards.
